Assistant Minister - New visa measures generate international buzz

"The announcement of a 2016 trial offering 10 year Visitor visa for Chinese nationals (with a maximum three month stay provision) builds on the Coalition Government’s initiatives to realise the enormous potential that exists within the growing Chinese market. This premium product will attract repeat travellers and will cost $1000."

"Yet another measure in keeping with the Government’s commitment to streamline processes and cut red tape is the expansion of online lodgement for Visitor visas to Chinese and Indian nationals, with a full roll-out in China expected by the end of 2016, and India in 2017."

"Further, in 2016 the Department will trial a fast-track (48-hour) Visitor visa processing for Chinese tourists for a $1000 fee, designed to attract high-value travellers who have the potential to inject substantial funds into the Australian economy."
